The Story starting in reconstruction history, Bekmambetov, working with a script that Seth Grahame-Smith adapted from his best-selling novel, adds display a cluster of bright ideas. The ridiculous premise actually arrive full of symbolism that connects vampires and Manifest Destiny, with the former representing everything that was wrong with the American dreamracism, slavery and greed. Bekmambetov fails to deliver its movie social commentary, devoid of significant importance.
Bekmambetov spans 50 years American history to deliver as champion. The extremely rapid cuts and edits, moves his film together with the speed and urgency of documenting Lincoln's life. Taking this stylized approach, which invokes the rapid editing of the talented Edgar Wright, creator Bekmambetov also a number of discontinuous transitions, introducing new scenes so awkwardly and abruptly that he initially did not manage to introduce them at all.
We see the same speed, but contrasted by several slow motion shots in the visual effects that also occur with mixed results. Bekmambetov film shot in 3D, med fits into a coherent aesthetic completely defined by the camp. But as fun and striking as the over-the-top action in particular against the pulsating score by Henry Jackman, it is often frustrating incomprehensible, summarizing what film critic Matthias Stork has called chaos cinema. The Middle middling economy, an uplifting element comes in performance, especially those of Benjamin Walker.Playback Lincoln, the young actor not just totally looks Parthe literally personifies the concept smashup, putting together a show that roam back and forth from the high drama of absurd one-liners to impressive stunts. Walkers stunning turn around, and those from Dominic Cooper, Anthony Mackie and the always creepy Rufus Sewell, tip the scales just enough to make the film work that is not stopping the viewer from the wish the scales were tipped even further so that this story of our 16th President have been a little more fun.
